GUIDED TOUR AT CONDE DUQUE
Guided Tour is not a guided tour. Guided Tour is rather an inhabited visit or a spatial tour or perhaps just an encounter with what is not seen, with what is behind, with what we cannot yet name. Guided Tour focuses on the choreography that appears as we move together and on the character of the different spaces we pass through. In this atypical visit we will take a tour through some areas of the Conde Duque building from a peculiar perspective. Through different stories of the people who live and work there we will learn something of its past, present and future.
This project consists of several ‘tours’ of public buildings, both public and private, that have changed their use or have been refurbished. Esther Rodríguez-Barbero was chosen in the Conde Duque Latidos residency call to participate as a collaborating artist with this site-specific work. This Guided Tour is recommended as an activity prior to the Latidos exhibition.
With the support of: a.pass (advanced performance & scenography studies), Comunidad de Madrid, Artists in Residence 2018- La Casa Encendida and CA2M Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo.

‘Guided Tour’ is a study of space thinking, a performative tool which aims to make one think/name/inhabit/move space from within the body, in order to affect and be affected by the bodies/ objects/ limits/ dimensions/ stories/ speeches and rules shaping (or forming) it.
The project Guided Tour is a performace based on research whose aim is to explore the different spaces that appear when we relate them to architecture and to the context we inhabit.
The performance is part of the research 'The construction of performative Space' developed within the framework of a.pass.
